Oslo Queer Festival

Standard

I know I should be updating you and telling you all about Brisbane and Aussie, but a late update from Oslo Queer has to come first. Lack of internet makes the situation terribly slow. Aussie is good by the way. I LOVE IT. Anyway, September 1st me and a friend named Annelén had a forum theater workshop at Oslo Queer Festival 2012. It was a great experience and we had a lot of good discussions within our group. We took a closer look at prejudice in queer environments, and people from all over Europe participated. Unfortunately we weren’t enough people to make a real forum-play in the end, but next time we will make it! Heidi (red head in the picture below) finally arrived from Hong Kong to Oslo on Sunday 2, just in time to say goodbye before I got on the same plane going down under. She and a friend had been backpacking Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand for five weeks. Yay!

My fair lady Heidi and her friend Eva outside Blitzhuset.

My precious friend Annelén was happy to be at the festival!

This is somewhere I might wanna go. I dunno yet where I’m heading after Vietnam. Still haven’t got anyone to travel with – I’ll cross my fingers I’ll find someone who wanna go to the South East of Asia!

Suddenly the toilet at Blitz started to mumble and talk to me. That got me thinking. Actually the first thing I checked when I came to Brisbane was if the water in the toilet flushed the opposite way of toilets in Norway. It did. Or at least I think it did. Happy times. I’ll never quit being a kiddo.

Even Smurfs say NO TO NAZI!

Sharing of experience. Heidi passed on her travel books to me, and some Vietnamese and Cambodian money. Lucky me! They got good coffee at Blitz, almost for free!

Martine and Eva. Happy people.

PEOPLE NEED HOUSES. HOUSES NEED PEOPLE. BLITZ STAYS. THE FIGHT GOES ON!

Where we had our workshop!  The Pussy Riot Cathedral – in honor of the amazing russian girls.

Good volunteers recycling all the empty bottles! Miss them so much, these lovely folks.

In the end, life is all about balance. Eva was getting the hang of it.

Martine striking a pose for peace!

Hippies never die – they say.

Annelén always got something dirty on her mind, and I like it.

Cuties outside the Blitz House. That building’s got so much history. I’d like to tell you all about it but time is running away from me. Check the link!

Last goodbye! I’ll update more tomorrow if I get the chance to go to the library again. That’s it for no. Gotta go. Love and light K.

Piling up

Standard
Working class heroine. That's what I'm gonna be.
A working monster, ladylike machinery.

My box of snus just flipped, and took a salto mortale down into my dreamy sheets. FML. Now I’ll have to do even more laundry. Hate it. Piles of dirty laundry. Bathroom floor once were. Now its a living ocean of swimming slim legs and drowning t-shirts. A curled up tie, lying like a dead tongue is laughing at me. Bedroom floor dusty, and dirty. I’ve got to much stuff, and I’ve got no room for squirreling away anything. A mess. Chaos! Tomorrow I’ll have to store my student life into small little boxes, and huge plastic bags. Don’t have much – but a couple of guitars, a bass guitar, two trumpets, a keyboard, an unknown number of books, pictures, cds and dvds, hats, shoes, dresses, sunshades, and a collection of percussion instruments and leather jackets are on the move. I’m finally on the move. Monday 6th of August, and the calendar says VACATION BABY. Two weeks before schools up. Couch surfing is the new biggie. First stop is Malin and Torbjørn, living together with their baby, a full-grown rabbit named Tore. Awesome. Now back to my laundry. I swear it’s piling up secretly behind my back! And where do all the happy couples of socks go…? All I see is ugly break ups of marriage. I bet the monster under my bed is a lonesome fellah.

Just another random post… Can’t wait for my life to get a little bit more exiting. Yesterday I ordered tickets to the opening day of Jugendfest, a music festival located in Ålesund city. Thursday 16th. I’m thrilled! One of my favorite bands of all time, the Norwegian Kaizers Orchestra is coming for the show. And The Prodigy. Happy tears in my eyes! Sad to miss Roxette playing on Saturday, but I know, in life you can’t always get what you want. At least not all of it. K.

TUNEZ TODAY: Kaizers Orchestra – Bastard Sønn, Blitzregn Baby, Knekker Deg Til Sist, Bøn Fra Helvete, Christiania.
YOU should first listen to their oldest albums, then you play knick knock running stairs further up in their discography.

Good morning sunshine

Standard

Been working night shifts the past couple of days. Honestly I’m exhausted, but luckily I finally got some sleep tonight. I sure need the energy! Gonna jump into the shower and pack the rest of my stuff, and then we’re off to Nordfjordeid and Malakoff Rockfestival. I’m so excited! A friend of mine, Lars, is coming to pick up us up any minute. I really don’t have the time to blog, but what the heck. This weekend is going to be awesome! I love festivals. Nothing beats good music, love and laughter among good music loving friends. Last night Nico, me and frenchy-boy Mikael were having dinner, experiencing slugs for the first time. Or, Michael is french so he’s familiar with the concept of eating slimy aliens, but for me and Nico it sure was something new. I’ll post a review of the slugs later, but for now I can say that it was all good, together with red wine, garlic butter and bread… Mmmm, munchies. Now the sun is shining, the temperature is rising, and I finally get the feeling of Norwegian summer. Chill and delightful. Enjoy your day, love K.

After dinner we went outside to check out Mikael’s new back yard. I was so full I just had to sit down. Lazy bum.

TUNEZ TODAY: Turbonegro – The Apocalypse Dudes album. Tomorrow I’m gonna see them live for the first time in three years. Even got a TurboJugend jacket to put on for the concert. It’s gonna get crazy, happy motherfuckers gonna dance all night!
